SpinLock Dice™ uses a smooth ball-bearing dial to generate each roll. Instead of throwing dice across the table, you simply spin the face and press the side button to lock the result into place.

A small internal gear ensures the dial always stops on a number - never on a dividing line - giving you a clear, readable result every time.

Is this a real dice roll or just a random spinner?

SpinLock Dice produces a random result using free-spinning mechanical dials. Each roll is generated by physically spinning the dial and pressing the stop button quickly to lock a dial onto a random number.

Are the results fair?

Yes. The dials spin freely on ball bearings and are not weighted to favor any value. We used a chi-square fairness test across all faces with a large sample size, and results were well within expected statistical variation for random dice.

Does the lock affect the randomness?

No. The locking button does not influence the outcome of the spin when spinning the dial and pressing the stop button to lock the dial onto a random number.

Will it ever stop on a line between numbers?

No. An internal gear mechanism ensures the dial always locks onto a valid number position, not between values.

What dice does SpinLock Dice replace?

SpinLock Dice covers the following standard RPG dice values: d20, d12, d10, percentage rolls, d8, d6, and d4. These are split across two sides of the device. Simply flip to the side you need and spin again.

Is SpinLock Dice quieter than normal dice?

Yes. Because nothing is thrown across the table, SpinLock Dice is much quieter than traditional dice. This makes it well-suited for shared spaces, late-night sessions, and tables with miniatures or terrain.

Can I use this in organized or tournament play?

Rules vary by game group and event. While SpinLock Dice produces fair random results, some organized play settings require traditional polyhedral dice. We recommend checking with your game master or event organizer if you plan to use it in formal or competitive play.

Does it work as a fidget toy when I’m not rolling?

Yes. The outer shell and dials can be freely spun without locking, making it useful as a tactile fidget between turns. The locking mechanism also provides gentle resistance when pushed.

Does it require batteries or charging?

No. SpinLock Dice is fully mechanical and does not use electronics, batteries, or software of any kind.

How durable is the mechanism?

SpinLock Dice uses internal ball bearings and mechanical locking components designed for regular tabletop use and fidget handling. It should not be dropped onto hard surfaces or disassembled, but normal spinning and clicking will not damage the mechanism. The bearings are the same type used in skateboards.

What is it made from?

The housing is made from PETG plastic, and the internal components include metal ball bearings and mechanical locking parts.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a damp cloth as needed. Do not submerge in water and do not attempt to open the device, as this may damage the internal mechanism.

What if a small particle of food gets stuck inside?

We know that chips are magical and find their way inside of everything so simply remove the particle with a paper clip. It works, we tried it.
